Art With Ms. Tish:
My favorite part about today's activity was after we were done with our sculptures. This is because once our group was done, we got to see what the other group's sculpture looked like. This was fun because we really got go wild with our imaginations. The most challenging part about this activity was the first few minutes of building our sculpture. This is because that was the time we had to brainstorm what we wanted our sculpture to be. Next time, I think that my group and I should have worked more together on this. The way that my group worked on our sculpure was we worked individually. Gradually we would start to put them all together and imagine what it could be. The way the other group worked was they started with a base, and just built off of that by adding things on. If our group had to work like that, then I think our ending product would have been way different than the way it turned out using our method of working.
4th Day With Explorer Elementary:
Katriel was absent today, so my only buddy was Zoe. Today, I got to read her my "final" rough draft of our fractured fairy tale. I got the feeling that Zoe liked our fractured fairy tale and got the impression that her favorite part was the ending. Zoe didn't mention anything that she wanted to change about the story. I liked the process we went through while writing the fractured fairy tale with Zoe and Katriel. I liked it because we didn't have to rush through anything and we went step by step. This also helped them really get the feel for what we were doing. My favorite part about working with Zoe and Katriel was that I felt like a teacher when I was with them. Also, I had never been inside of Explorer Elementary before, and this gave me the chance. The msot challenging part of working with Zoe was that she was really shy, so it was hard to get her talking. It was hard to work with Katriel because the point of writing a fractured fairy tale was that you had to change things about the original fairy tale. When I was asking her questions having to do with what she wanted to change, she just kept telling me that she wanted to keep everything the same. Next time, i would prepare more with questions, ideas, and ice-breakers to get them talking.
