5th Day With Explorer Elementary:
Today, we painted shoes for an organization called shoes of hope. Those shoes are going to be sent out to the children suffering in Uganda.
Art With Ms. Tish:
Ms. Tish showed the class a video, then we had to make a collage that is a response to what we saw in the video. The meaning of this video was that we have the power to make a difference in the world. After that, we wrote a poem about our collage. I liked when we got to make the collages out of images from magazines. The most challenging part was writing the poem. If I were the teacher, I would have shown a different video. This is because it was difficult to figure out what the meaning of the video was.
Uganda Discussion:
Mrs. Borden handed out to everybody a piece of paper that explained the war that is going on in Uganda. We had to write five or more statements that started with; I feel.
These were my statements:
1. I feel thankful for everything that I have.
2. I feel I feel sad for the people (adults and children) that are being tortured in such an inhumane way.
3. I feel guilty that i am not doing anything to help what is going on there.
4. I feel disappointed with the people that are doing those horrible things to the Ugandans.
5. I feel that what is going on in Uganda is unjustice.
6. I feel ashamed that i am always asking for more and more of things that I don't need but i want, when people in Uganda barely even have the basic needs of living.

Today, we also finished scetching out our designs onto our murals. Both the fairy tale themed mural, and the Harry Potter mural.
